Anna Bondaruk

Key Account Manager

"Be curious, there is much more to see that meets the eye. Don't be misled by cliches/stereotypes!"

Meet Anna. She has been working for Ingram Micro Belgium for over three and a half years. She is the Key Account Manager for our B2B team and based in our office in Diegem.

Who is Anna?
An ambitious woman who always strives for a goal through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, with roots from Ukraine and Kazakhstan. She grew up in Belgium and studied Communication.

How did your journey in the IT industry start?

During my studies I was looking for a part-time job where I could put my communication skills into practice. I decided to start at a well-known consumer electronics brand. During this part-time job I learned about sales (B2C) and technology. I discovered that understanding the latest features/technology and interacting with customers energizes me. Due to the changing world of IT, I developed quickly. I not only sold products, but also gave training and demos. This experience showed me that I like to add value as a business partner/consultant and that I like to have a customer portfolio. I got this opportunity at Ingram Micro.

After 7 years in Sales, half of them with Ingram Micro, I can still say that I am challenged every day. Every customer is different and it's not a routine job. Working as a Key Account Manager at an IT distributor makes everything dynamic. I love how the IT industry and this company keeps me on the edge of my seat.

How do you feel being a woman and working at Ingram Micro?
I feel positive. I am fully accepted as the person I am. I never felt like I wasn't taken seriously. I experience Ingram Micro as an open environment and that I never have to prove myself extra because I'm a woman. Ingram Micro is open to everyone and there is a healthy culture of mutual respect both internally and with customers.

How important is International Women's Day for you and why?
From an early age I was taught about International Women’s Day. Every day I was reminded of the achievements and the topics that are still being worked on. So, I was very consciously raised with it.

Did you know that International Women's Day in Kazakhstan is a national holiday. Many organizations hold special events around women and their achievements. Special performances and gatherings are held. The government and people honor all women, mothers, daughters, sisters, and colleagues. Fine words are penned on greeting cards and flowers are exchanged at home, school, and work.

What tip and/or suggestion would you give to another woman who is thinking of joining the IT industry?

Be curious. There is much more to see than meets the eye. Don't be misled by cliches/stereotypes.
